Fusion Sport is proud to partner with the European College of Sport Science for the 2018 Congress

Fusion Sport is excited to be a partner of the 2018 European College of Sport Science Congress, to be held July 4-7 in Dublin, Ireland.  The team at Fusion Sport is extremely excited to be part of such a world-class event and to help lead the way on data analytics technology for the sporting arena.

The multi-disciplinary academic program will be delivered by leading thinkers in the field. It showcases the combined expertise of University College Dublin (Centre for Sports Studies) and the Ulster University School of Sport. The theme of the 2018 Congress is Sport Science at the Cutting Edge, which offers unlimited opportunities for delegates to learn from and contribute to the latest developments in sport and exercise science.

A programme highlight will be the workshop we are hosting on Friday July 6 at 2pm: Data Driven Injury Prevention, Performance Optimisation and Talent Development.  Come and see our partners from Cardiff Metropolitan University, the Royal Opera House, The Royal Ballet School and Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) share their research, experience and insight. The workshop will have two parts:

PART 1: IMPLEMENTING DATA MANAGEMENT AND ANALYTICS STRATEGIES FOR INJURY PREVENTION AND PERFORMANCE OPTIMISATION

The continuous monitoring of athletes and study of the epidemiology of injuries is a key component for understanding and maximising athlete performance while preventing injuries in sporting organisations and performing arts. In this session, the speakers will take the audience through real life examples of their platform and processes for effective data management, including how this data is used by medical staff, coaches, sport scientists, data analysts, high performance managers and dieticians.  The Gaelic Athletic Association, The Royal Ballet and Royal Ballet School have transformed the culture around data and outcomes for their athletes, especially in the area of injury prevention.

PART 2: SPEED AND POWER DEVELOPMENT IN ATHLETES

The principles of speed and power development in young athletes is an increasingly popular topic for researchers, strength and conditioning coaches and physical educators, as youth is the phase that often represents the greatest opportunity for speed development, increase in body and muscle size as well as improved coordination of the nervous system. In this session Cardiff University will take the audience through youth physical development models and provide logical and evidence-based approaches to the systematic development of physical performance in young athletes.

Over the course of the congress Fusion Sport will have a booth at the SportEx exhibition, so please drop by and say hi. We’ll be educating delegates and taking them on an interactive journey into the world of human performance data.

We look forward to seeing you there.

EMEA Manager, Fusion Sport
