In March 2013, after an extensive 12-month tender process, Fusion Sport was awarded a 4 (+3) year contract to deliver a centralised Athlete Management System for the Australian Institute of Sport.
Based on its early success, the project quickly gained the attention of the State Institute and Academy System (SIS/SAS) network, and the project scope rapidly expanded outside of its original scope as an AIS centric solution.
Five years on, the “AMS” is now a Nationwide solution consisting of seven linked Smartabase sites, selectively and automatically sharing relevant data on athletes across the country and achieving a never before seen level of collaboration between the AIS, SIS/SAS network and National Sporting Organisations (NSOs).
The solution now serves in excess of 1500 staff members and 15,000 athletes across the country and has collected and generated in excess of 3 Billion data points on Australia’s leading and future athletes.
The project has provided a central repository and ‘single source of the truth’ for athlete data, which has fuelled a range of new research and new knowledge in areas such as injury prevention and performance optimisation.
