US partner Athletic Republic has embarked on a massive talent identification project across the USA in conjunction with leading player development company Football University. Football University puts on 30 weekend-long mini-camps that set the standard for Football training—with a faculty of current and former NFL players and coaches. Athletic Republic trainers set the standard for “testing, teaching, and training” athletes through the integrated solution of Fusion Sport’s technology, Dartfish video feedback and peer comparisons from Athletic Republic’s AIMS database.
Each event uses a combination of SMARTSPEED, SMARTSCAN and SMARTCAPTURE/DARTFISH to fully automate athlete testing and produce a video clip of each test for use by coaches, scouts and athletes. A big jump from the days of hand timing and pen/paper recording, this initiative is leading the way in combine testing and talent identification on an unprecedented scale.
