New protocols now available

Version 2.7 introduces two brand new protocols to the SMARTSPEED system capabilities. The Reactive Shuttle Drill (pictured)  is excellent for football, tennis, in fact all ball sports. Fusion merges with Grabba International

In January 2008 Fusion Sport merged with long time development and manufacturing partner, Grabba International. The merger means more resources for Fusion Sport research and development, marketing and support. The combined company now boasts 17 full time employees, including eight engineers with a range of skills in electronic engineering, wireless communications and software development.

Former Fusion Sport CEO Dr. Markus Deutsch has now taken the position of VP - Business Development for Fusion products, under the guidance of combined company CEO, Frank Downes. Dr Deutsch says that the merger is a fantastic move for Fusion Sport and paints a very exciting future for the company.

"Now that we have such great resources and people to work with, we can move forward to give better product, better support and begin work on a number of new innovative products." says Dr. Deutsch. grabba_logo.gif

Frank Downes, CEO of Grabba International and Fusion Sport says that the opportunity to merge Fusion Sport into Grabba came at a great time for both companies.

"The merger has allowed the combined companies to make the transition from entrepreneurial stage business to fully professionally managed business with a board of five, an executive of 6 and total team size of 20 plus.  The talent and capability of our team will drive Fusion Sport to rapid expansion of its market reach and will provide a constant source of rich new feature sets that will ensure the SmartSpeed system remains the leader in the field." Mr. Downes says.

"Grabba’s vision is to be in a commanding position as the provider of  useful tools for attachment to hand held computers enabling and enhancing their use in work, health, sport and play.  Fusion Sport products are a natural extension of our market into global sport."

The Samsung Oceania Talent Identification Program is an innovative new program being launched as part of the Samsung Oceania Sports Development Initiative. The program is overseen by the Oceania Foundation, an arm of the Oceania National Olympic Committees (ONOC).

Fusion Sport's SMARTSPEED and SMARTJUMP systems have been implemented as the core training and testing technology for the project, not only due to the superiority of the systems for fitness testing, but equally as important for the ability to expand the systems' uses into the development of the identified talent.

The program is now active in several Pacific Island countries and aims to establish eight programs during 2008, and a further eight in 2009.
